My TOP SCENTS for the Year

"I felt something so intense, I could only express it in a perfume." - Jacques Guerlain

I haven't talked about my favorite fragrances ever in this blog. So I think it will just be fair if I will also acknowledge them and the people who gave them to me. Yes, I am not a perfume collector and I don't purchase as much scents as other people do. But people close to my heart prefers giving nice scents as gifts and "pasalubongs".

Here are my Top Scents for the year 2012. I have other bottles (RL, Burberry Body, Bath and Body, etc.) but these are the ones I have used for this year.

Colognes:

Bath and Body Works - Sweet Pea (courtesy of my friend Kring Vitug)
GAP Dream (purchased by yours truly)
Victoria's Secret - Tropical Breeze (from my husband's aunt Florence)

I so love these scents and not being a perfume person, I wear these whenever I go out for errands, with no special occasion at all.
Great for daily use!

Perfumes:

DKNY - Be Delicious Peach Blossom ( mama Thess' "pasalubong")
Davidoff Cool Water - Wave ( from Tobby, hubby's bro)
Victoria Secret - Berry Kiss (from my mom)
Burberry Touch - ( from mama Thess)

I only wear perfumes whenever I attend events and special occasions. Notice that those three bottles to the right are almost empty.
I so love DKNY Be Delicious in Peach Blossom, I wear that most of the time the moment I received it. It stays for a long day.
Burberry Touch is also one of my favorite scent so I'm almost emptying the bottle.
Davidoff Cool Water in Wave is a great scent too, but I get dizzy at times at don't understand why, lol!
Victoria's Secret is best worn at night because of the sweet scent which I truly love!

How about you? What are your TOP Scents for the year?

'til then!

LOTD: Attending Maria's Baptism

Hello there loves! It's been a couple of days that I haven't posted anything on my blog. I've been busy with work plus some kinda mommy duties for the weekend. Anyway, when I woke up today and checked my blog, there's a new follower on the list. Proud to say that I'm being followed by CHARRY of EYE CANDY. She's one of my fave top bloggers in the country! That gives me the mood now to post a new article today. :)

December 8th, it's Mama Mary's Immaculate Concepcion. We were also invited to attend a baptismal event, Yale's ninang Tel Agustin (wife of Ato Agustin) is one my college friends and their 2nd child, Ayesha Karelle will be welcomed in God's grace. Review: HERBENCH Paint Box Cheek Tint

Hello my gorgeous readers! Christmas is just 19 days away! Yey! So I bet you all must have gone out for your Christmas shopping for your friends and loved ones. I believe in some alternatives for high end cosmetics and since it's the Yuletide season, some of us might want to SAVE more moolahs than SPLURGE in expensive cosmetics out there!

Here is my HERBENCH Paint Box Cheek Tint, not the usual powder blush that we were used to. It's a tint, creamier than BENEFIT'S BENEtint, but a lot more affordable.

the packaging

this little amount is good for both cheeks

the swatch at the back of my hand

on my cheeks

PRO's:

- very affordable, it's only Php 128 (US $ 3)
- available locally at any BENCH or HERBENCH outlets
- a little goes a long way
- easy to apply, just smile and find the apples of your cheeks
- the clear tube packaging makes it easy to check how much product is left
- good staying power for about 6-8 hrs

CON's:

- takes some time to master the application
- can easily stain your skin (so you really need to carefully apply the product)

WILL I REPURCHASE?

- Yes!

Thanks again! xoxo

My "MUSTS" for the Month

Hello there! Just right after creating a review earlier, I've realized that I have to manage my growing make up collection and should create a plan on how to maximize their usage. While I'm on a "relax" mode, meaning no make up gigs, events and stuff, I need to put up another monthly post in relation to my monthly favorites. So I'm composing my "MUSTS" for the Month - a collection of my make up items that I MUST use for the whole month. Take note that these items will not be limited to what I will be posting at the start of the month. I need to use these items so I can maximize their usage and also to compare with my other products. These items will appear on my "Monthly Favorite" posts at the end of each month, but of course there might be some additional items too!

Anyway, take a look at the items I have chosen to be part of my "Musts" for the Month:

1. ELF Cream Eyeliner in black
2. REVLON Photo Ready liquid foundation in shell - I need to finish off this foundie
3. MAC Fix+  - must empty this bottle too!

4. BENEFIT Hello Flawless Powder Foundation in "I love me" ivory  - I need to hit the pan soon so I can remove other make up items inside the box and keep the box for future use.

5. ETUDE HOUSE Oh M' Eye Lash mascara in black
6. BENEFIT Lemon Aid and Boi-ing
7. BENEFIT The POREfessional
8. HERBENCH Paint box blusher
9. THE FACE SHOP Lovely Me Ex make up base

10. MAC lipstick in Chatterbox
11. MAC lipstick in Innocence

So there, another reason why I have chosen a few things to use for the month is mainly because I don't want to open up my make up kit and mix all the items there whenever I need to prep up. Also, kids in the house tend to reach for my make up too! That will be a complete mess if they do. :)

'til next!

Review: ETUDE HOUSE Oh m'Eye Lash Mascara

One of my favorite items last month is my Etude House Mascara. It is actually good for everyday use especially if you don't want too much make up on your face. I can go along with this, a powder, a blusher and a lipstick alone. :)

The packaging

The mascara wand

Applied two coats of EH mascara

PRO's:

- easy to use
- affordable, priced at around Php 190 (US $ 4)
- can last up to 6 months for personal use
- can be removed easily with an oil based make up remover

CON's:

- they should have thought over with the packaging thinking that it's from Etude House
- staying power isn't too long, max of 4 hours
- product inside the container can dry fast if not used and covered properly
- you must curl lashes again after applying the product ( but of course once it's already dry)

Overall, this is a good dupe for Maybelline mascaras. If you want to save moolah, you can opt to purchase this one since it can last you for 6 months of personal use. :)

WILL I REPURCHASE?

-Yes!

Thanks! xoxo

BURBERRY BODY PH

Hello December! It's the Christmas month once again and I'm sorry for just putting up a post today, I've been too busy with the weekend shopping with my family in the metro and I also went to see my long time friend whom I haven't seen for more than 10 years now. :)

Anyway, before we head out to the metro last Saturday, I was surprised to get my Burberry Body gift pack from the mail. I was actually negotiating with Luxasia's Brand Manager if they can ship it out or I still have to go to their main office in Bonifacio Global City. Apparently, my e-mails for DHL (courier service) bounced back a couple of times so I didn't expect that Ms. C already shipped my package.

Here are the pics of my gift pack:

85 ml bottle , retails for Php 5,798 (US $141)

This was actually released November 2012 here in the Philippines and there was only 156 bottles in the market to celebrate Burberry's 156 years.

the box

the package also contains 6 sample bottles and a DVD\

If you're wondering how I got these, here is my entry for the BBBODYPH contest:

the notification

It was really an early Christmas gift, good thing I didn't buy a new perfume on my own and trusted my luck. haha!

Thanks again Burberry Body PH and Luxasia for the gift pack, and also Ms. C who made sure I'm gonna receive this. :)

'til next!
