Review: ACTIVE Cosmetics Blush On

One last hit before I get off for work and get busy again the whole week. Sigh. Well, that's all for the little guy. All the hard work will pay off every time I see smiles and hear laughs and giggles from my little boo. :)

Another lovey that I have from my Active Cosmetics palette are these blush on colored in pink and peach:

nice colors :)

housed underneath the eye shadows

the kit

swatch on my skin:
left is the pink shade
right is peach

PRO's:

- very light on the skin
- lasts for about 8 hours
- not cakey or powdery
- smooth application
- shimmery but not too much

CON's:

- not available locally
- you have to apply it evenly
- not too much pigmented so you have to apply twice
- better to use a blush brush instead of the brush that comes with it

PRICE:

- no idea since it was given by my mom-in-law, bought in London

Overall, I love it on my skin. It has a natural finish and glow. :)

Weekend BEAUTY Loot

How are you lovely ladies? I hope you all started the week right! Well, for me, it's not actually a good start of the week 'cause I have colds and I need some rest for I feel kinda exhausted from last week's activities.

Anyway, like what I mentioned from my last post, we went to see my mother-in-law who just arrived from Dubai last Friday. We got to her hotel in Makati on Saturday to see her and had lunch with my mom, dad and bro. Of course, hubby and his bro Tobby were also there, Yale was too shocked indeed when he saw his "lola" from his daddy's side. :)

Since my MIL is also very "kikay" on her own, she always bring a beauty loot for me every time she goes home or whenever she sends out a package for the family. She always put blouses, shirts and dresses on my loot, but I'm more concentrated now on the cosmetics part. LOL!

Here's the prettifying items included in my beauty loot:

MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC25

VICTORIA'S SECRET Simply Breathless eau de toilette

ESTEE LAUDER Travel Exclusive Make up kit

So there goes my beauty loot from mama Thess (hubby's mom). I also got blouses and a lot of sweets! I'm the only girl whom she gives a beauty loot since she has two sons (hubby and Tobby) and Yale, they're all guys so they're more on shirts, perfumes, rubber shoes, watches and gadgets.

Will be putting these babies to road test this holiday and I'll make a review then.

Yale with mama Thess

Thanks!

Appreciate, don't hate! :)

Review: HERBENCH Paint Box Cheek Tint

Hello my gorgeous readers! Christmas is just 19 days away! Yey! So I bet you all must have gone out for your Christmas shopping for your friends and loved ones. I believe in some alternatives for high end cosmetics and since it's the Yuletide season, some of us might want to SAVE more moolahs than SPLURGE in expensive cosmetics out there!

Here is my HERBENCH Paint Box Cheek Tint, not the usual powder blush that we were used to. It's a tint, creamier than BENEFIT'S BENEtint, but a lot more affordable.

the packaging

this little amount is good for both cheeks

the swatch at the back of my hand

on my cheeks

PRO's:

- very affordable, it's only Php 128 (US $ 3)
- available locally at any BENCH or HERBENCH outlets
- a little goes a long way
- easy to apply, just smile and find the apples of your cheeks
- the clear tube packaging makes it easy to check how much product is left
- good staying power for about 6-8 hrs

CON's:

- takes some time to master the application
- can easily stain your skin (so you really need to carefully apply the product)

WILL I REPURCHASE?

- Yes!

Thanks again! xoxo

My "MUSTS" for the Month

Hello there! Just right after creating a review earlier, I've realized that I have to manage my growing make up collection and should create a plan on how to maximize their usage. While I'm on a "relax" mode, meaning no make up gigs, events and stuff, I need to put up another monthly post in relation to my monthly favorites. So I'm composing my "MUSTS" for the Month - a collection of my make up items that I MUST use for the whole month. Take note that these items will not be limited to what I will be posting at the start of the month. I need to use these items so I can maximize their usage and also to compare with my other products. These items will appear on my "Monthly Favorite" posts at the end of each month, but of course there might be some additional items too!

Anyway, take a look at the items I have chosen to be part of my "Musts" for the Month:

1. ELF Cream Eyeliner in black
2. REVLON Photo Ready liquid foundation in shell - I need to finish off this foundie
3. MAC Fix+  - must empty this bottle too!

4. BENEFIT Hello Flawless Powder Foundation in "I love me" ivory  - I need to hit the pan soon so I can remove other make up items inside the box and keep the box for future use.

5. ETUDE HOUSE Oh M' Eye Lash mascara in black
6. BENEFIT Lemon Aid and Boi-ing
7. BENEFIT The POREfessional
8. HERBENCH Paint box blusher
9. THE FACE SHOP Lovely Me Ex make up base

10. MAC lipstick in Chatterbox
11. MAC lipstick in Innocence

So there, another reason why I have chosen a few things to use for the month is mainly because I don't want to open up my make up kit and mix all the items there whenever I need to prep up. Also, kids in the house tend to reach for my make up too! That will be a complete mess if they do. :)

'til next!

The packaging

 shade is: "warm tan"

So far, I'm loving this bronzing powder since I can use it for contouring too. Of course, you have to use a different brush for contouring is you wish to use it so.

- it's highly pigmented
- this pan will last you a long looong way
- can last for about 4 - 6 hrs depending on humidity
- very affordable for only Php 129.75 (approx US $3)
- light weight
- can be worn anytime of the day

CON's:

- lasting power isn't too long
- you have to make sure to get only an ample amount to apply on your cheek
- when generously  applied, it will give you a very tan color

WILL I REPURCHASE?

- Yes!

Watch out for another ELF reviews! :)

MAC GLAMOUR DAZE HOLIDAY COLLECTION

Another collection from MAC that I'm sure all make up addicts wouldn't want to miss: GLAMOUR DAZE HOLIDAY COLLECTION. Our local celebrities were able to experience the collection last night and these are officially available here in the country.

According to the MAC website, the Glamour Daze Holiday Colour is:

The glamour of getting ready to step out for the holidays. Sweet to sexy, lips to nails. Every angle, every detail obsessed over. An unforgettable look emerges in a cool cloud of pale pink edged with smoky grey - the shimmer of a festive finishing touch. One last glance and you're out the door. Limited edition.

Yes, they're another LIMITED EDITION so better hurry while the collection is still HOT. :)

Anyway, just look into these glam items from the collection:

Glamour Daze Extra Dimension Eye Shadow
- A liquid powder eye shadow with prismatic reflections in eight shimmering tints.
Impact ranges from sheer crystallized light to a highly polished metallic effect.

Glamour Daze Fluidline
 - Ultra-smooth, fluidline's gel formula provides the precision of a liquid liner with a
silkier, softer finish. Goes on fool proof with a brush in an easy dip and stroke action.

Glamour Daze Kohl Power Eye Pencil
- A kohl pencil that has all the intensity and colour power of ultra soft carbon.

Glamour Daze False Lashes Mascara
- Fashionably false in look but honestly real, this mascara's key benefits of volume and curl
are matched by a dramatic end look.

Glamour Daze Lipstick
 - Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway.

Glamour Daze Lip Glass
- Lip colour with large particle pearls reflect and refract light to mimic the brilliance of quartz and opal crystal.

Glamour Daze Powder Blush
- Colour for the cheeks and face.
Various formulas, different looks.

Glamour Daze Extra Dimension Skin Finish
- A liquid-powder highlighter with prismatic reflections that sculpts, highlights and models the face.

Glamour Daze Nail Lacquer
- Revolutionary new high gloss formula.
Contains conditioners and UV protection.

Aren't they lovely? But with all of these, here are the items that I wanted to get or should I say, my "wishlist" for Christmas. :)

Lippies! Yes, I admit! I'm in love with MAC lipsticks and I can always save some moolah for them.
I would love to get this Glamourdaze shade from the collection.

or maybe this Innocence shade, or maybe both? :)

and this powder blush in Small Vanity shade

I can't wait for our next trip to Manila, so I can do my Christmas shopping too!

How about you? What would you get from this collection?

'Til next! Goodnight! :)

My OCTOBER Favorites

Happy Halloween! I know everyone's busy in visiting their beloved ones in cemeteries nationwide. In our case, it will be difficult for us to leave 'cause hubby is working even on holidays. Also, my son doesn't have a nanny at the moment. :(

So before the month ends, I'll be leaving you with my monthly favorites, well for the month of October.

BENEFIT COSMETICS' How to Look the Best at Everything, THE FACE SHOP Lovely Me Ex Make up Base, ELF 24K Lengthening and Defining Mascara, ELF 24K Eye Pencil, ELF Eye Brow Kit

As you can see, Elf cosmetics has been a staple in my monthly favorites. Simply because they're very easy to maintain and very affordable. I've been using my Benefit Cosmetics a lot for this month and I made a promise not to buy a new face powder until I've used this up. :)

MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder, MAC lipstick in Chatterbox, L'OREAL lipstick in Wine Maven, HERBENCH Painbox

My compact powder for everyday use (and the only powder that I can bring out) will always be a favorite! My theme for this month was SIMPLICITY, and it goes well with my chosen lipstick colors. :)

Thanks again and enjoy the long weekend! xoxo

Beauty Haul for October

This month, I don't have any particular brand of cosmetic haul so I would rather name this post as "Beauty Haul". Aside from the brand, I didn't spend too much for these items since they were either post birthday gifts or just given to me with no reason at all. :)

My items: Lotions, shower gel, body mist, lipstick and blush on

Let's start with the Body Lotions:

From my cousin (post birthday gift), Victoria Secret - Scent is sweet apple and raspberry!

From mom, Bath and Body Works

I love scented body lotions! Aside from the fact that it gives smooth skin, it also gives me the smell that will last for hours even if I don't spray on perfume.

The Body Shop Shower Gel from my mom - Instead of using bar soaps, I prefer using liquid soaps and shower gels. It provides moisture to the skin and is more refreshing than bar soap, it smells good too!

Bath and Body Works Shimmer Mist from mom - I had one too from my college friend Kring (pasalubong last July), this kind of mist is nice to wear during night outs or simply if you just want to have a sweet and shimmering skin.

Paint Box Liquid Blush on/Tint from Herbench - I purchased this one for only Php 128 (around US $3). I haven't tried using this kind of blusher yet so I think this will be an addition to my make up kit.

MAC Lipstick in Chatterbox - Another purchase for Php 1000 (around US $23), I think Mac cosmetics will always be a favorite and will be a staple on my monthly hauls. :)

Watch out for the reviews of my lipsticks. 'Til then! xoxo
