My OCTOBER Favorites

Happy Halloween! I know everyone's busy in visiting their beloved ones in cemeteries nationwide. In our case, it will be difficult for us to leave 'cause hubby is working even on holidays. Also, my son doesn't have a nanny at the moment. :(

So before the month ends, I'll be leaving you with my monthly favorites, well for the month of October.

BENEFIT COSMETICS' How to Look the Best at Everything, THE FACE SHOP Lovely Me Ex Make up Base, ELF 24K Lengthening and Defining Mascara, ELF 24K Eye Pencil, ELF Eye Brow Kit

As you can see, Elf cosmetics has been a staple in my monthly favorites. Simply because they're very easy to maintain and very affordable. I've been using my Benefit Cosmetics a lot for this month and I made a promise not to buy a new face powder until I've used this up. :)

MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder, MAC lipstick in Chatterbox, L'OREAL lipstick in Wine Maven, HERBENCH Painbox

My compact powder for everyday use (and the only powder that I can bring out) will always be a favorite! My theme for this month was SIMPLICITY, and it goes well with my chosen lipstick colors. :)

Thanks again and enjoy the long weekend! xoxo

Review: THE FACE SHOP MAKE UP BASE

I've been MIA for the past couple of days because I have to accomplish some requirements for my home based job. Yes, I'll be working from home for the first time, that means I don't have a lot of reasons to go out. Lol!

Anyway, I'll be reviewing about The Face Shop's Make up base: LOVELY ME: EX. I was eyeing for the green colored one because it reduces redness on the face, but it was out of stock when I went to their store. So I got #2 the purple shade, it is for sensitive and acne prone skin.

 nice packaging

descriptions are all written in Korean language :(

foil sealed

see the difference?

this little amount should be enough for the whole face, "a little goes a long way"...

applied on my face

PRO's:
- it gives a nice canvas before applying your make up
- nice smell
- smooth finish
- it didn't break me out
- price (Php 355 or US $8) with 40 ml content
- no oily skin

CON's:
- the packaging can be easily pinched, thus having a messy cap
- when applied too much, it will give your face a whitish finish (eew!)

OVERALL:

I love this product and I can recommend this to any skin tone, even with morenas.

WILL I REPURCHASE THIS?

Definitely!

I hope this review helped especially for those who are looking for a good make up base.

Thanks! :)

FOTD: USING BENEFIT'S HOW TO LOOK THE BEST AT EVERYTHING

This is my first FOTD using the whole kit of Benefit's HOW TO LOOK THE BEST AT EVERYTHING. But of course, I did use other make ups too! Here's the look:

Note: I didn't put on eye shadow for this look

Here are the things I've used:

For the Face:
MAC Fix+, to hydrate my face before applying make up
***BENEFIT the POREfessional, used as a primer to minimize pores on the nose area
***BENEFIT Boi-Ing, under eye concealer
***BENEFIT Lemon Aid, eye lid concealer
***BENEFIT Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow, my liquid foundation
***BENEFIT Hello Flawless Powder, blotted on my face after applying foundation

For the Eyes:
ELF 24K Black Liner, used on my lids
ELF 24K Defining and Lengthening Mascara in black
ELF Eyebrow Kit

For the Cheeks:
HerBench Paint Pot Liquid Blusher Tint

For the Lips:
MAC Lipstick in Chatterbox

The kit is best to use for everyday look, when you don't need a lot of make ups. You can even bring it along with you since it's just the size of a pocket book. This look is very light indeed! :)

Thanks and Happy Weekend! :)

Review: MAC HEROINE LIPSTICK

My first ever matte lipstick (and my first lipstick from Mac), Heroine. It has a bluish-purple color and very nice vanilla scent, it's a limited edition by the way and I can't seem to find any blog post about it here in the country. I love the pigmentation like my other Mac lippies. I also noticed that after a few hours, when the purple color diminishes, there is a dark pink stain that stays on my lips. I have used it very often the month I bought it. It gave me a very unique look. :)

I've used it so often, look at the tip! :p

Swatch

Heroine on my lips

I love the staying power it gives my lips, the pigmentation of course! Also, it's very eye catchy...a lot of people notices the color especially at night. A completely different look in a snap!

PRICE: Php 1,000 (approx US $24) at Rustan's Dept Store

RATING: 9 out of 10

The only reason why I rated it as 9 out of 10 is the fact that it's not too wearable. I can wear it when I want to have a unique look but can't wear it everyday or even on formal wears. I can wear it at night outs and sometimes during the day.

The color is good for fair skinned ladies but I can't recommend this on dark toned or morena beauties. You might want to check another shade of purple lippies but not this. The last time I went to the Mac counter at Rustan's Shang, they said it's already out of stock. Lucky I am that I have decided to purchase it earlier. :)

That's it for today! :)

Review: MAC RUSSIAN RED LIPSTICK

The first red lipstick that I fell in love with, Russian Red from Mac. I love its matte finish, vanilla scent and its pigmentation on my lips. I don't have to apply it so often since it lasts longer than other lipstick does. The only thing that I don't like about it is the application. You have to carefully glide it on your lips to create a perfect finish that shapes your lips. You can't go wrong that often 'cause if you do, it will leave a mark, maybe because of the high pigmentation.

Swatch

Russian Red on my lips

It has an intense bluish red color. Perfect to wear anytime of the day or during night outs. It gives an awesome look to your casual or not so "bongga" wears. I feel more confident and powerful whenever I wear this lippie. Its loud color gives an extravagant sexy look.

PRICE: Php 1,000 (around US $24) from Rustan's Dept Store

RATING: 10 out of 10

So far, this is my no. ONE lipstick favorite among my collection.

Thanks! xoxo

Review: MAC LIPSTICK in CHATTERBOX

My freshest lipstick addition from MAC is Chatterbox, a bright red-pinkish color from the amplified creme family. I am actually choosing between the famous Pink Nouveau or this, but I ended up purchasing this color because the first one is too bright for me.

Chatterbox on my lips

It's amplified creme so it glides easily on the lips for easier application compared to matte finish. I love that it doesn't look too bright on me as I can wear it anytime. I can say that as of now, this is my fave from all the pink shades that Mac produced and I'm in love with it. :)

PRICE: Php 1,000 (around US $24) from Rustan's Dept Store

RATING: 9 out of 10

I can wear this color on casual looks and during daytime. I love the color, the finish, and the moisture it gives on my lips. I'll definitely repurchase this once it's done. I can recommend this to fair skinned ladies.

Thanks again! xoxo

Review: L'OREAL COLOUR RICHE Lipstick

This lippie should have been added to my October Beauty Haul post, but my bad...I wasn't able to include it on the photos. :(

The lipstick color is on the outside, while the gloss is on the inside layer.

The lipstick is very visible because of it's partly transparent cap.

It's number 709, color is Wine Maven

Swatch

On my lips

I love the easy application on my lips, it glides on smoothly because of its gloss inside. I also noticed that there is a cooling touch on the lips, which is great to wear during the holiday season. I have a kinda dry lips right now, which I never miss during this season. So a lip balm or gloss is a must for me at this time. Applying this lipstick everyday will be great because of its wearable color and it's very light on the lips.

PRICE: n/a (it's from my mom)

RATING: 7 out of 10

For me, this color is wearable but doesn't last that long. I may say, you have to reapply once in a while to keep the color and shine.

Thanks! xoxo

Beauty Haul for October

This month, I don't have any particular brand of cosmetic haul so I would rather name this post as "Beauty Haul". Aside from the brand, I didn't spend too much for these items since they were either post birthday gifts or just given to me with no reason at all. :)

My items: Lotions, shower gel, body mist, lipstick and blush on

Let's start with the Body Lotions:

From my cousin (post birthday gift), Victoria Secret - Scent is sweet apple and raspberry!

From mom, Bath and Body Works

I love scented body lotions! Aside from the fact that it gives smooth skin, it also gives me the smell that will last for hours even if I don't spray on perfume.

The Body Shop Shower Gel from my mom - Instead of using bar soaps, I prefer using liquid soaps and shower gels. It provides moisture to the skin and is more refreshing than bar soap, it smells good too!

Bath and Body Works Shimmer Mist from mom - I had one too from my college friend Kring (pasalubong last July), this kind of mist is nice to wear during night outs or simply if you just want to have a sweet and shimmering skin.

Paint Box Liquid Blush on/Tint from Herbench - I purchased this one for only Php 128 (around US $3). I haven't tried using this kind of blusher yet so I think this will be an addition to my make up kit.

MAC Lipstick in Chatterbox - Another purchase for Php 1000 (around US $23), I think Mac cosmetics will always be a favorite and will be a staple on my monthly hauls. :)

Watch out for the reviews of my lipsticks. 'Til then! xoxo

Review: BODY AND SOLE Spa

Yesterday, we finally had the time to get some pampering at Body and Sole Spa (City of San Fernando Branch). Me, hubby and papa went there to try their services. Luckily, they have packages at affordable prices. :)

Hubby got their Package 4: Facial, Foot Spa and Body Massage (2 hrs), Papa needs a massage but also tried their foot spa afterwards. I got their Package 2: Facial, Foot Spa and Body Scrub.

Their super affordable promo packages

hubby and I while waiting for our therapists

They also have gift certificates

Overall, the services were really great! The therapists made sure that we were relaxed at all times. The ambiance, scent and the whole place is really relaxing. Sorry if this review was too short, I can't really say anything else. :)

Highly Recommended Spa in Pampanga :)
